Farm Weddings in St. Louis Roundup
Farm Weddings in St. Louis
We just LOVE farm weddings. The Haue Valley farm has been in our family for 125 years and is a total of 246 acres.
My great, great, great grandparents bought the original 80 acres of the farm. The farm was then passed down to my great, great uncle John who was a horticulturalist. He planted thousands of daffodils and grafted trees, which can still be seen around the farm in the spring. He also won a silver medal at the 1904 World's Fair, which was held in St. Louis, for his wine grapes. John never married, but we all believe he would love that so many couples cherish our farm enough to choose to celebrate their wedding here.
Uncle John passed the farm down to my grandma Edith in the 1970's. Since that time, my father and our family has helped her care for the farm. Grandma can often been seen here for tours that take place on Tuesday's. It's the day she comes with me to the farm, and my favorite day of the week. She thinks it's really special that so many couples have chosen to get married here, and is amazed at how many couples from out of state have celebrated at Haue Valley.
We certainly aren't wedding planners. Actually, we never set out to get into the wedding business. Instead, we met a few couples, fell in love with them and their stories, and welcomed them to our farm to wed. With that, we were hooked. To us this isn't business. We are sharing our St. Louis farm with you, and welcoming you into our family.
And with that, here's a roundup of some of our favorite moments captured here on the Haue Valley farm.
