FEATURED WEDDING: BREANNA & DAVID

It's A Ruby Romance

Breanna & David - September 30, 2017

Their Love Story

Breanna and David's love story began at Truman State in college in 2014. The two were brought together by music; David worked in the music lab and Breanna was a music major. The two went out on a few dates, not quite sure where the future would lead. Their first date consisted of pizza and beer at David's house, where they each put one another to a test. David made Breanna watch Hot Rod, and she made him watch The Graduate (because it's a classic.) It's safe to say the two both "passed."

Not long after they started dating David took Breanna to Thousand Hills State Park for a sunset picnic and asked her to be his girlfriend. So sweet, right?

From the beginning Breanna knew David was a sweet man with a very kind heart. She knew if she dated him, should would probably fall in love with him, and the idea of getting married wasn't far off. Soon they began living together and planning their future.  In Breanna's words, "Somethings you just know!"

The Proposal

In preparation for their one year anniversary and Breanna's birthday, David planned a special weekend that including reservations at a restaurant on The Hill and a walk around historic main street St. Charles for Oktoberfest.

While visiting main street the prior Christmas the two witnessed a proposal near a gazebo. While walking near the gazebo on their anniversary weekend, David stopped and told Breanna that since the two had seen that proposal last Christmas he knew he wanted to marry her. He asked, and of course she said yes!

Wedding Day Details

Leading up to their beautiful September wedding, the two were very much looking forward to their "first look" photos captured below by Photo Video Image Productions. Breanna described the decision to do a first look as a "great stress reliever" and allowed the two to spend some quality time together before the ceremony.

Their ceremony was officiated by Thomas Fogarty, and was followed with a beautiful reception catered by Pappy's Smokehouse, with sweets provided by Wedding Wonderland. Breanna's beautiful dress was found at David's Bridal, and her faux floral bouquets were made by The Faux Bouquets. David's grey suit is from Men's Warehouse.

The two, along with their friends, danced the night away at Haue Valley with music provided by DJ Connection. One of their favorite moments of the night was the "anniversary dance" where the DJ asked all couples to join the dance floor, and the couple who was married the longest remained the final couple on the dance floor.

We also love that they themed their wedding "Ruby Romance," in honor of their new shared last name.

A NOTE FROM THE BRIDE

Breanna wanted to make sure that we shared that the couple had a two year engagement and planned the majority of their wedding from more than three hours away. Couples ask us all the time if planning from afar is an issue, and we certainly don't think it is. Breanna and David's day came together beautifully!
