✨ Bar Services at Haue Valley ✨

We’re excited to share that Haue Valley provides in-house bar services for our couples under the business name Bar 1891.

We’ve worked very hard to answer many of your potential questions here, but if you have a question please don’t stress - just ask!

Here’s Why We Are Excited For YOU

We value what you value. Good communication, affordable bar options and some fun!

Making Bar Decisions is Easy

We know there can be an overwhelming number of decisions to make when wedding planning, so we are pretty excited to make this one easier for you!

At Haue Valley, the bar will be set up as a full bar and you’ll simply decide the categories you want to host.

For example, the bar service will stock 4-5 varieties of domestic beer (for example), and you’ll just decide you want to host beer (and all domestic beer in stock would be included).

This makes planning easy for you, and actually provide your guests with more great choices than most venues!

You Have More Control Over Your Budget ✨

Here’s Why:

Instead of paying expensive per person fees, (and paying for all guests whether they are drinking alcohol or not!) our model makes budgeting easy and more affordable for our couples.

We’ve had many requests over the years for couples to be able to host specified drink menus, and allow guests to purchase other drinks not being hosted. Or, to pay for the first $X dollars of the bar bill, and then transition to drinks available for purchase. With our in-house bar service, that’s possible!

For example, if you want to host (aka pay for) the first $2,000 of beer/wine/seltzers, and allow guests to purchase mixed drinks on their own - totally possible. Then if/once the set budget amount is reached, the bar will simply switch over to a for-purchase bar.

How it Works ✨

You’ll simply pay a $750 setup fee to cover your bartenders, license, and insurance.

Then you’ll just pay for the drinks ordered. Easy!

Drinks paid for by the couple for their guests (in a single transaction or prepaid by check) will be at a discounted rate from cash/credit card purchases by your guests.

Here’s why - we know you are doing something great providing drinks for your guests. It also makes it easier on the bar service when they don’t have to run a card every single time, so the drinks will be at a discounted rate when they are hosted by the couple.

✨ A Few Other Things You Need to Know ✨

  • Because there will be an onsite liquor license, the State of Missouri forbids any and all outside alcohol. You’ll still be able to have mimosas and/or beer in the suites - it will simply (and must be) ordered through Bar 1891. No outside coolers will be allowed.

  • If you are having a Friday or Saturday wedding, and have rented the day before your wedding at Haue Valley, all alcohol must be provided through Bar 1891 on both days. In that case, if you plan to have any alcohol the night of the rehearsal it must come from Bar 1891, and you’ll simply pay a bartender fee + any drinks ordered + tax. If you want to set a budget cap for that night, just let us know.

How Simple Planning Your Bar is ✨

Step 1: Decide the amount you want to pre-pay (including the $750 setup fee which must be prepaid prior to the event.) If you want this amount to be your max budget before switching to a for-purchase bar, skip to step 3.

Step 2: Decide your max budget for the bar and put a credit card on file with us approved to spend up to that additional amount if/when your pre-paid amount has been spent.

Step 3: Decide if you want to “save back” any of your budget just for the bridal party or parents later in the evening.

Step 4: Decide if you want any alcohol in the get ready suites.

Step 5: Prepay your amount from step 1 via check 60 days before your wedding (one more thing to get out of the way!)

Step 6: Decide which categories you want to host:

- Domestic Beer + Basic Seltzers

- Craft Beer + Wine + Premium Seltzers

- House Liquor Drinks

- Call Liquor Drinks

- Premium Liquor Drinks

- Specialty Drinks (Multi-liquor drinks and drinks not regularly kept in stock at the bar.)

✨ If you’re a person who likes a bit more detail, or a specific example here is one ✨

  1. Decide your pre-paid amount (example $2,000), and your max budget (example $3,500). You’ll simply send a check 60 days in advance for your chosen pre-paid amount (in this example $2,000) and you’ll provide us a credit card on file for the max budget amount (in this example $1,500 limit on the credit card.)

  2. We’ll deduct the $750 for bartenders/insurance/license (in this example $2,000 - $750 = $1,250 minus taxes and gratuity (if you choose to prepay it) and the remainder will go toward drinks ordered the day of your wedding.)

  3. You’ll decide if you want to save any of your budget to continue to pay for your drinks and your bridal parties drinks a little longer into the evening. (In this example, maybe you want to save $350 back for the bridal party of the prepaid amount so you continue to cover their drinks longer in the evening.)

  4. Then the day of the wedding we will simply count each drink ordered toward your pre-paid amount. If/when you reach your pre-paid amount, we will automatically start a new tab using your credit card on file. This tab will close if/when your guests order enough drinks to hit your max budget. At that time, all drinks will roll over to a for-purchase bar.

  5. Easy for you, offers your guests great options, and helps you stay on budget for the big day!

Quick Tip

If you are trying to make the most of your budget, we would suggest hosting beer, wine, and basic seltzers.

If you are trying to squeeze the most out of your budget and you want to add a fun signature liquor drink, we would suggest deciding on a quantity of each to host (for example 50 for each signature drink - knowing that some of your guests will choose to drink something else and “when it’s gone it’s gone” for the signature drinks.)

FAQs:

As we receive questions we haven’t answered here, we will add to the FAQ section over time.

  1. What if I’m not having any alcohol at my celebration? No worries! We can still take care of you and your guests with non-alcohol soda, lemonade, tea, juices, and water. Pricing will simply be a $250 staffing fee + $5 per guest. All guests will still be served from the bar area, not to guests seated at their table.

  2. Can I still have mimosas, seltzers and beer in the get ready rooms? Yes - and it must be purchased through/provided by in the in-house bar service. Per Missouri requirements, no outside alcohol is allowed. No hard liquor is offered prior to the ceremony.
