Delicate Details & Pops of Color
Featured Wedding: Nikki & Kamron
January 27, 2018
Two genuinely in love people, a 55 degree January day, and oodles of personal touches and bright pops of color - this is one you definitely don't want to miss!
Their Story Started in High School (Well, Sort-of)
From the Bride
After high school, I went off to college at Mizzou with one of my lifelong friends (& bridesmaid). We roomed together through our four years of undergrad at Mizzou. One day, freshman year, this good friend and roommate of mine had some of her new friends over. I heard a knock at our apartment door, and in walked two familiar faces. It was Kamron, my now husband, and his best friend, and best man at our wedding, David. Though their faces were familiar, I acted like it was the first time I had ever met them. It turns out, I had already met them once before at a high school homecoming.
You see, a few years ago I went to homecoming as friends with one of my close guy friends and they were in the group of friends that we went to dinner and the dance with. Well then why did I act like that was the first time I was meeting them, you may ask. Because that homecoming experience was extremely awkward for me.
My friend's friend was upset that night and he wanted to be there for her, so I was left standing alone in the middle of the dance floor at a school where I knew no one. As if school dances weren't awkward enough.
As soon as Kamron and David left our place I quickly told my friend how I knew them from that school dance years ago.The next day they told her the same thing. It looks like my plan of acting like I didn't know them didn't work as planned. In the end it all worked out, and we quickly became friends. Throughout college we became closer friends, best friends, and then started dating. Following college we got engaged and now are husband and wife!
The Proposal
Kamron's proposal to Nikki was long-awaited. Their first week officially dating Kamron actually used the phrase "at our wedding" in front of Nikk's friends. Of course they were surprised to hear that so soon, but it's obvious he was on to something.
After several "false alarm proposals" (times Nikki thought he was GOING to propose), Kamron proposed in the most perfect and special way. The two love hiking and Kamron took Nikki on a hike in Klondike Park. When reaching the overlook, Nikki found candles and roses and the most beautiful sunset. She said yes!
Wedding Day Details
Nikki & Kamron's wedding day was filled with bold pops of color (like her hair, which we LOVE!) and oodles of personal touches.
Veronica Young Photography captured the moments of the day so beautifully (and we can't wait to have her back again!) We especially love that they chose to incorporate "Ruby" - Renown Rental's antique and beautiful red sofa. It's a great example of how one upgrade can make a huge impact. (They also used it in conjunction with their sweetheart table for double the bang for their buck.)
Nikki's beautiful flowers were provided by Weddings by Nettie. Her gorgeous dress was found at Bridal Manor in Waterloo, IL. Kamron's suit was provided by Savvi Formalwear.
The two and their guests enjoyed dinner from Two Mike's Catering, danced the night away with The Edge DJ. One of our favorite details at the day were the adorable caricatures from Bax Illustrations.
