A Brunch of Love at a Midwest Missouri Wedding
Featured Wedding: Cassandra & Bryant
April 29th, 2018
Where It All Began
Cassandra and Bryant met the first day Bryant moved to St. Louis from Arkansas. Cassandra was helping two of her friends move into their new place, and Bryant was their third roommate who was moving in as well. They got to chatting and while he became interested in Cassandra, Cassandra felt like he was the perfect fit for her friend. Cassandra decided she would try to set up Bryant and her friend on a date. Cassandra invited Bryant and her friend to a group hang out at the Whitaker music festival. During the festival, it became clear that Bryant was interested in Cassandra.
Bryant secretly flew in both his and Cassandra's family from out of town. He took Cassandra to the Botanical Gardens and planned to propose in a specific spot in the Climatron. Before they arrived to that particular spot, their families hid a video camera in the bushes and they hid around the corner. When Bryant proposed, Cassandra was so shocked she didn't even say "yes" at first. Instead, she just said "thank you so much!" After Bryant proposed, their families came rushing out and surprised Cassandra.
The Wedding Details
The love these two have for each other is infectious, which you can clearly see through these adorable photos. This unique brunch inspired wedding was one for the books. The wedding florals were from Harold's. An incredible meal was served by Graze Catering. Friends of Cassandra and Bryant danced for hours thanks to the DJ from Complete Weddings and Events. Moments like these were captured by Veronica Young Photography.
We love the fact that Cassandra and Bryant put a personalized touch on their dessert table. Since Haue Valley allows couples to bring outside desserts, they took advantage of that and were able to have a dessert table made up of homemade desserts from close friends and family. Bryant's grandma made brownies with a chocolate sauce recipe that was passed down from his great grandmother. His mom and grandma also made a variety of desserts that were childhood favorites of Bryant's. One of their friends also made Gulab Jamun, a popular Indian wedding dessert - donuts covered in rose water syrup. Another friend made funfetti cake donuts that were gluten free. Another friend made a variety of brunch inspired desserts, such as blueberry muffin bundt cake. How fun and unique is this idea?!
