A Cinderella Love Story at a St. Louis Wedding
Featured Wedding: Melissa & Bill
April 22nd, 2018
We've all seen the classic Disney movie "Cinderella", right? Yes, the one where she has to make her own dress, be home from the ball by midnight, and loses her shoe. Everyone loves a good fairy tale, and Melissa and Bill have one of their own.
Bill was working in radio in Los Angeles. When Bill had the possible opportunity to host a weekend show, he did not want to use his real name because he felt like it sounded fake. Bill Smith.....John Doe.....Will Smith from The Fresh Prince.....you get the point.
While talking with a fellow DJ while looking through the newspaper, there was an full page ad that said "SHOE SALE!" Bill's fellow DJ said, "SHOE! Now that's a funny word. Go on the air as SHOE!"
Where It All Began
SHOE (a.k.a Bill) moved to St. Louis to help start a new top 40 radio station. Through producing the morning radio show, Melissa and SHOE met. The couple dated for a while, but as things happen, they were separated by a series of events.
SHOE moved to other cities to do radio, and Melissa continued with her life in St. Louis.
Through social media, Melissa was able to find SHOE again. About six years ago, they reconnected and have been together ever since. The "shoe" definitely fit this time.
The Wedding Details
How's that for a fairytale? We are still loving the details from Melissa and Bill's wedding day. Eye.Do STL rocked the hair and make up game. Dinner was served by Two Mikes Catering, with a variety of sweets to follow, including Old Towne Donuts in Fenton. A DJ from Complete Wedding and Events entertained guests all night. Thanks to Amanda Tindall Photography for sharing the shots from Melissa and Bill's special day.
